OK, slightly off subject but anyone know when this pic of Brett was taken? SI says it was after Brett's 1000th hit in 1979, but the K didnt have that Royals jumbotron in leftcenter back in those days. WTF??

I think it is funny when the game was rescheduled martin threw to every base because he claims non of the umpires saw him touch the base..? something to that effect

I started looking through some old magazines and remembering some of the great days at the plate George had. One that I remember so vividly was his three home run game against the Yankees and Catfish Hunter in the ALCS in 1978.

He put the team on his back that game, but Doug F'ing Bird blew it for us in the 8th.

That one hurt.

In '85 I was at all 4 games against The Angels(last week of the season) as they were battling back and forth for the division lead and remember Brett having an inside the park homerun.Man those days were great because as a fan whenever he stepped into the box you had faith something good was going to happen.

Good idea. Besides Brett, who would the other 3 faces be on the KC sports athlete Mt. Rushmore?

Wow, it's a Jamie sighting!

I think you have to include Tom Watson. Marty never won a championship, so you have to drop him.
