It's in the news because it was in the police report. The shrink told the team that Young was talking about suicide and that he had a gun. The team then called the police to help find him. The cops had to write up why they were involved.

Suppose the shrink didn't say anything to anyone and Young had gone and blown his brains out. I'm thinking the heat would be a little stronger for that than for the issue of confidentiality.

It's gotta be BS. Legally the therapist can't say crap. if they did they wouldn't be a therapist much longer. They'd get their license taken away faster than Croyle gets hurt.
