It's okkkaaaaaayyy, we got alot of young guys and we're the youngest team in the NFL. We got alot of youth, alot of young players, and do we expect them to make mistakes?, of course. That's apart of a young team.

The current Kansas City Chiefs talent level from 1-53 is at the expansion team level.

At best.

:sulk:

What is Herm going to say when Clark says "this is a very nice spreadsheet Herm, I see your computer skills are improving, but if this talent is of the expansion level as Mr DaneMcCloud say's it is, then why am I paying you to be the Head Coach, when obviously your "eye" for talent is lacking!"

Question Mr DaneMcCloud. How many of these players on this current roster have been drafted by Herm?

Why do you continue to ask questions of me, then never ****ing respond? I can find several instances.

Why the **** should I continue to answer? If this DC?

Are you Donger?

I'm not sure if they're going to be able to justify keeping Herm, but we'll see, it's possible.

I think we've been worse than expected, but it's not too insane. We aren't just rebuilding... we gutted the roster even more than we did last year. If we finish with a worse record, then why should we be surprised? We got rid of our best defensive player, several other veterans, and replaced most of them with rookies or undrafted/scrap heap pickups. Probably not a recipe for getting better in one year, even if the coaching was great. A lot of the moves we made were going to set us back another year or two.

Jesus Carl settle down...

My problem with the whole rebuilding concept is a bunch of these guys aren't even going to be here three years from now. Carl won't be able to re-up everyone, some guys will want to leave even if the offer from another team is similar, and some guys will get hurt and fall off. I just don't believe in the notion that these guys will "grow up" together.
Sure, a few might and might stay, but I don't see why you have to go through a catastrophic disaster just to find a handful of good players.

What the hell are you talking about?

Players are signed for a minimum of 4 years. At four years of service, they're restricted free-agents. They're free to sign with another team. But the Chiefs can either choose to match or let the player go for compensation.

At year five, they're true free agents (if they haven't signed an extension). At that point, they're free to sign with another team, unless they've been franchised.

So these guys will be together a minimum of four years.

Don't forget, the way things are headed, there might not be a cap in 4 years. I think the whole negotiations are on hold after Upshaws death, but once they resume, if the cap is removed, it will never be allowed back in by the players.

I think thats partly why the Raiders signed such huge contracts this year, they are banking on not having a cap.

I don't think you rebuild by putting a bandaid on the situation with young players you know that aren't going to be a part of that future. Right now we are going at this like the expansion Houston Texans. We already chewed up a young running back and spit him out. Now its time to totally mess with the QB so they have no protection. Even in rebuilding some parts have to be put in place. Putting in young guys just because they are young isn't the answer. Getting a veteran to fill a hole until you have a young player you have confidence will be able to fill the role is.

Like I said, some might get hurt. And not all the young players are rookies. Some are already two or three years into their deals.

So that's what the "hell I'm talking about" crybaby.
