Look like it's 2012, but who knows what kind of clauses are in the contract that would allow either party to get out of it?

Oddly enough... 75% of the fan base was ready to run him out of town a few seasons ago.

That's just how it goes I guess.

I'm a fan. (obviously)

I think he'll stick around, anyway.

He's talked about this being a "destination" job for him...

And really, Mizzou's not a bad gig. You've got KC and St. Louis to recruit from...

And he's had a lot of luck recruiting kids from Texas...

I hope you're right. I'll follow the guy's career wherever it takes him, but I've always had something of a soft spot for Mizzou because of their top-notch school of journalism. A bunch of the guys I worked with in my younger years went to that school.

So there's that, combined with watching Pinkel play TE for Kent State in the early '70s on the same team that produced Jack Lambert. I was at every home game his senior year, and a couple of road games as well. My dad was the Sports Information Director at Kent State at the time. He travelled with the team, and sometimes I got to go along.

Pinkel was recognized back then as THE offensive leader of that team. Clearly.

Don James was the head coach at Kent State in those days. That's why Gary ended up as an assistant at Washington.

My headline would be...

Missouri pops Cornhuskers 52-17.
