I don't think he's quite ready for the HC gig, but I definitely think he should stay on with the team.

There was an article several months ago about asst coaches to watch
and David Gibbs was up on the list if any current coach gets a shot it should be Gailey -but there is film |

He had 4 years as DC/DB's under Mason at U of Minnesota as well as the 1 year at Auburn. HC might be to soon for that but he is a bright young coach i would like to see stay around. If we got a Spanuola or Swartz for HC i would like Gibbs as DC. Along with Gibbs and Gailey i wouldn't mind seeing Modkins, Price, and Jon Embree stick around as well. |
Tomlin was a DB coach for 5 years and DC for only one year before being named Pitts head coach.

That's a good example of a team micromanaging in a good sense because it makes the most sense. I'm sure he didn't get to choose all his assistants and doesn't have final say over personell. Another example was what you brought up with Harbaugh and the Ravens. Baltimore is an excellent run organization and they took a chance on a guy and it is paying off. Pittsburgh and NE get brought up as teams Clark would like to follow their model but I hope he looks close at the Ravens too. |
keep him as DBs coach

Pretty sure that Kubiak offered Gibbs the DC job with the Texans before he came here because of them knowing each other from their denver days. About the only good thing Gun has done is recruit him here. Plus his wife is from Kansas so that helped as well.
|
Rumors have been that the Texans will shake up their D staff starting with the DC so maybe he will end up there after all.
|
Nah, his voice is too high and he looks like wolfman Jack. Oh, I thought you meant Andy Gibbs. My bad.
|
This is a joke right?
