The question I have is how long will Belichick remain? He's in his late 50s I believe, but doesn't really look it. My guess is that he is there for quite a bit longer, in which case he will keep finding smart, hard-working football people and keep it going. I just can't see Belichick retiring. He seems too competitive and seems to love the game too much.

The talk of the Patriots' demise is way too premature.

So basically Pioli was the GM in NE even thought he didnt have that specific title?

Yeah. Pioli and BB both had veto power over any player. So Pioli had a lot of power.

It's espeically unfortunate that Dimitroff, who would have replaced SP, left to go to Atlanta last year. The hope is that Caserio can step into SP's shoes and do well.

The Patriots have the most cohesive front office / coaching group in the NFL, and hopefully that is maintained at a consistently high level.

Losing so many guys has to catch up sooner or later.

This is dumb statement. They finished the season 11-5. This was the first time in over 20 years that an 11-5 team didn't make the playoffs. They won three more games than the Chargers. You tell me who deserved to be in the playoffs.

Pioli wanted to be the man and jumped ship. It's a bit early to write off the Patriots based on that alone.

Maybe some of the Debbie Downer "what has Pioli really ever done" pricks should jump over there and read some of that.

I think this thread at Pats fan is the most amusing I've seen.

Does Pioli's hiring make KC a potential suitor for Brady?
