Great news. I am glad to see him land on his feet. Swartz and he have similar defensive philosophies, so I think we will see him do much better there.

I wonder if Meeks will be coming to KC since he runs Tampa 2?

I wish Gunther well in Detroit. It was time for a parting of ways. I assume that the Chiefs let him know that he should look around for work which is a classy makeup for the way he was let go the last time.

Now it will be interesting to see if Herm starts looking for a DC.

Not that I'm a huge fan of his, but I would love to see Gun do well in Detroit just to prove that being Hermcuffed to the Tampa 2 was a big part of the problem.

It's time to part ways with an employer when they fire you over the internet the first time.

Someone post the quote from Tombstone...

The good ole boy network is alive in Detroit. Being a Chiefs fan is bad enough. I can't imagine being a Lions fan. This would be like Pioli bringing GRob back to KC.

I believe what you mean't to say is that he might not look like the total **** up that he is now that he has a real coach to hold his hand and tell him how to get things done the way that Marty did.

Detroit fans have no idea...

Me too. I always liked Gun for his fire, but it was time for him go.

Remember that the Colts invested nearly all their money on the offensive side of the ball. And, the Colts built a defense to compliment the offense.

The offense puts up big points quickly... run defense is not that important because MOST of the time, the opponent will be dropping back to pass.

Plus, they play eight games in a dome. It was all about speed... not power.

I just think Tampa 2, like any other defense, is whatever you make of it.

It is not my favorite defense. I actually like a 3-4 defense. I think that it makes the other team the most uncomfortable, and that is what I want.

That said, any defense can be effective if you have good players and the coaches are on the same page. JMO.
