Humans are breeding worse than cockroaches given life expectancy. It's not them, it's us.

If there's anything I hate worse than a midget, it's a one-armed fat lady.

I used to go to Jack's fork and the Current every summer when I was a kid. Loved it other than the snakes.

My brothers and I had a fishing hole we called "the secret pond". Its a very small, clear pond full of sunfish and 6lb bass. It was almost a guarantee to pull out at least 1 over 5lbs in a trip. This pond was at least a half mile from any road and took a little stunt driving to get to, in the middle of a field, hidden by trees. We always did catch and release...

My brother took a friend once, who took 1 hippy, who brough hippys and ruined it in less than 1 summer. I'd like to put their mullet scalps on the lodge pole.

Hold my beer and WATCH THIS?

Bascially. You need a truck you didn't mind getting scratched and had to cross an goat path through a ravine that was "just" wide enough......and pretty spooky if it was wet/muddy.

I went to the Jack's Fork on Saturday, and there was a group of about 10 Asian kids who had empty canoes, big smiles, and no clue.

Hmmmm... me and a friend went and kayaked on the Jack's from Alley Springs to Two Rivers this past Saturday.

We did start out surrounded by the obligatory beer-toting college kids, but after we blasted past them (and helped two of them with thier tipped water-and-river rock filled canoe--first time I've ever seen that much rock in a canoe, btw), it wasn't anywhere near as busy as we thought it would be. Aside from the campgrounds around Eminence that is. It was a really nice float.

Of course, part of that might also be that we were on the river at 8:30 am... :)

(And for the record: even with the increase of idiots on the Current and Jack's Fork, I'll still take them over that abomination of a canoe trip called the Niangua any day.)

Those stunt driving hippies are the worst.

Imagine how your head would explode if you ever came across a fat, one armed, female midget there Mr. Fax.

Na, evidently she had already been dis-armed.

I've floated the Current and Jacks Fork plenty of times; and yes, I am one of those idiots that get shit-faced and struggle to get my canoe to shore when we inevitably flip it.

But, has anyone here floated the Meramec or something more North?

I'm in St. Joe and we used to go to a little hell-hole of ass-backwardness called Eminence, MO every year, but I'm tired of driving almost 6 hours through the Ozarks. Suggestions appreciated.

you need to look for arrow-heads, more. that's truly the funniest outdoor activity i did w/ pops. Never liked fishing much, although he did and still does.
