Yes, but that was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Yeah, but Jabba is still alive. He's a football coach in Lawrence now.

Ever listen to the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network? It's time for the Pizza Hut Hut Hut.

This is all I can seem to find with limited searching attempts, but the ending of the story really lends itself to being bull shed in my opinion.

Our coach had us say "hit" instead of "hut"

on two ready break "blue 35 blue 35 HIT HIT"

tooge 09-08-2009 10:31 AM

It takes too long to say "hurry up and give me the ball, I have my hands against your ass"

BC's, Birth Control, glasses.
Don’t think they work? Try to get laid while wearing them.

Doesn't hut mean the same thing as one when counting cadance?

After seeing George Carlin describe the differences between baseball and football in another thread, I believe that anything that ties football closer to military terms is probably true.

I think the real question is where the word 'hike' originated. Based on linguistic theory, it's pretty easy for me to theorize that 'hut' is merely a shortened and more gutteral version of 'hike', and that it probably evolved for two reasons - it's easier to yell, and it's a logical evolution of a word that requires more effort to pronounce correctly.

Maybe early football teams wore long loincloths and the center, before snapping the ball(rock?), had to hike up his skirt...

They are actually going to talk about this on NFL Network shortly, I believe.

high school cadance

I remember when we would play Lexington, their cadance was "let's get set"
Somehow it always struck me as a funny way to start a play. We used "down, set, hut 1", ocassionly using hut2. Someone nearly always jumped offside.:doh!:
Amazing how young brains can be so programed to start on hut 1.
