I feel bad for him, I found myself in a similar situation many years ago and I know what he's going through.

And FWIW, I don't doubt him one bit.

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

AZChief 12-23-2009 11:28 PM

i agree, this isn't a big deal. two guys expressing themselves after a frustrating loss. we've all seen haley on the sideline and how he lets his emotions get the better of him...i'm sure his reaction to blowfish was yet another example of this.

DeezNutz 12-23-2009 11:28 PM

I noticed he voted in the Haley-Blowfish poll. I lollalrad.

RAWR 12-23-2009 11:29 PM

All opinions aside, GBF seems to have the respect of alot of the fellas here and if my opinion matters any, I think that respect will continue when he returns, as it should.

I don't think your reputation is in question at all.

Perhaps some, like myself, are still a bit confused how something like this can happen in such a public place, in the area where there are probably more people watching the figures, especially a head coach who is being yelled at, and no one else sees it to back up the story other than your friend. But, if you said it happened, I have no reason to doubt you.

I must say though, I do wish that now you would email Whitlock and tell him your story, as he is a national reporter, and if this really did happen, he is exactly the type of person that would put Haley's ass to the fire. Seems that this was definitely an important thing to many on here, as seen by the numerous 200+ post threads. And, it obviously was important to you too to write such a lengthy explanation. I think that since this is out in the open, you should really tell your story and see what happens.

But, ultimately, it is your prerogative to let this die if you wish. I agree this thing has definitely blown out of proportion, but really, what did you expect would happen when the biggest loudmouth blowhard in Kansas City Sports Talk got ahold of even a small piece of a story that could bury the head coach?

Dang, Mr. gblowfish, your friends are here. There's no reason to lie low.

Frankly, I haven't seen a single person on this site (other than the WPI nutbags) question your credibility. This is a minor storm, my friend. It will soon blow over like a fish.

On 810, they were saying that as the coach/players are going into the tunnel, from that vantage point only the people in the front row would be able to see anything.

It's on tape somewhere, probably, and been given the "Rules of Engagement" treatment.

Or maybe Whitlock should do some real journalism and find out if there were cameras down there or see if one of those security guards will talk?

It's too bad Rufus isn't around anymore.

He could fire off a doozy right now.

I think he's smart in letting it die. It's something that got blown out of proportion. Like someone else said, two people acting out of frustration, even if one definitely shouldn't have. If he pursues it, especially if no other witnesses come forward, he will only be getting more of the same, only on a national level.

Don't stay away too long, George.

I remember my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Longfellow, taught that if you can't say something nice then keep your mouth shut.

I have not always followed that, but here is a real life example of someone creating a lot of grief for himself and others by throwing an unnecessary verbal stone at someone.

There had to be cameras down there. Good luck getting the Chiefs to release the tapes. Why would they?

Fritz88 12-23-2009 11:35 PM

Haley's attitude from day one of training camp can easily tell that he would flip off a fan. Fugg him.

Good luck George.

I also agree with gblowfish that it isn't a big deal.. just kindof a funny end to "fan appreciation day"

Well, if you don't know the guy, one may doubt. Unintentionally, this has gotten well out of the realm of CP, and therefore a lot of people are making some opinions without knowing him.

And it isn't a big deal. It's a slow sports week and a bad team and folks are going to talk about something. It'll likely blow over come Sunday and everyone can get to arguing about something else.
