TD had more yards per game, more TD's, and a better YPC than everybody in NFL history in his first 4 years not named Jim Brown.

Yeah... good luck there.

Broncos fans are in for trouble if they are ever expecting TD to make it.

Look at how long it took DT to make it.

How about his next 4?

I'm actually a big proponent of putting guys in who had injury-shortened careers. Davis is worth discussing in that vein, even if he was a Bronco.

The big knock against him, though, other than the short career, is the fact that Olandis Gary and Mike Anderson and some other guys did almost as well after him. I would contend that he's not as HoF-worthy as another fellow in a similar situation, William Andrews of the Falcons. William Andrews was a devastating blocker and could catch out of the backfield and produced roughly the same number of yards from scrimmage. He also had one more productive year, though it was cut in half by the 1982 strike, so his numbers don't look notably better for that reason. Andrews' career was destroyed by a knee injury just like Davis', though Andrews' injury wasn't caused by a chop block by his own cheating lineman.

Seriously, Andrews was the complete package.

Great.

When they open a "Hall of Players that had 4 great years" he'll be a first ballot guy.

But yet Gale Sayers makes it in and TD has 2,500 more yards, and has 20 more rushing TD's in his career than Sayers.

So what's your point?

Times have changed dude. When Gale Sayers made the HOF 14 years after it opened. TD is having to be compared to 46 years of players rather than 14.

In related news, the Broncos have a Super Bowl caliber defense, QB and Head Coach this season. :shake:

It doesn't matter because it's still only 4 years, and the fact is guys around after him and were better in some aspects (Portis was unreal in his prime in that system) and nobodies churned out 1400-1500 seasons. Davis was nothing more than a product of that system, and he will NEVER make the hall. Nor should he.

Pfffff. Facts do not exist in the dream world of Bronco fans.

TD was a very good player on an excellent team. He is not HOF material.
