Writing the govt a check on or before April 15th....

What is a tax refund?

kepp 01-20-2010 03:43 PM

* Pay off a small amount of CC debt we accumulated in the past year
* Buy a water softening system for our house
* Give some to a charity through our church
* Save the rest, if any is left

Sounds like my brother, although no where near that amount, but he acts like an extra week is going to kill him. I want every penny back I can get, it's my money in the first place.

It blows my mind that people fall for that stuff.

I filed my taxes last Friday and should be getting my return back next week. I haven't even touched last years return and I'll probably just save this one too.

You're dumb for letting the government use your money !

gblowfish 01-20-2010 05:10 PM

What is this "tax refund" of which you speak???

The Bad Guy 01-20-2010 05:12 PM

I should get close to 9 grand back because of going into a lower tax bracket, and having a kid so that will be nice to pay off my last credit card.

I bought my TV last yr. with it. Not sure about this yr. Probably just bank it.

KChiefs1 01-20-2010 06:40 PM

I had 2 mortgages last year along with taking a capital loss of $3000 along with buying 2 new cars so I should get a hefty refund...

Bane 01-20-2010 06:47 PM

The only way I get a refund is by having my employer hold out extra every pay day,but I usually take the wife and kids somewhere for a few days with it.
