Absolutely not. There is no shred of moral compass on 4chan.

Example... /b/ users consistently post Facebook groups made for people sharing memories of a loved one after a recent death. People swarm it and mock the person and their grieving friends and family the way they died or generally just shitting all over the whole thing. It is usually a teenager.

It's a bunch of outcasts trying to top each other in the quest for "epic." That includes attention cam whores to the guy who stole a human skull from some European castle, took it back to his hotel, and literally skull ****ed it (pics and it happened).

no way jose. It's the wild wild west there. Nothing is off limits. Racism, putting spam and virus's in files or pictures you view etc.

Guys, I warned people about this site in another thread. I'll do it again. Don't say you wern't warned. Plus the site's visitors are being tracked.

The good: It is occasionally hilarious and the birthplace of many funny internet terms and memes (such as Rick Rolling)

The bad: Completely unmoderated (with the exception of kiddie porn), with an endless supply of racism, sexism anything-else-ism and sadly, pedophilia in some boards (/b/ in particular).

There is some humor to be had, but it is only for those who are impossible to offend.

I don't see why people put anything up on Facebook anyway, but that is just me. You are just asking for misuse and not just on 4chan. Not saying it's right, but you take your chances, and sometimes I feel like fishing for sympathy gets out of hand. Therefore, I can see the logic of hateful teenage kids making fun of it.

I see what you are saying but...

I think connecting with others in that time is a natural reaction...and a lot of people connect with with extended friends and family on facebook.

I don't see how they could possibly be tracking everyone as it is such a huge site, but yes it is generally believed that the government keeps a pretty close watch on the site and it's visitors. There have been terrorist threats that originated there and child porn is frequently posted.
