He might even have been a good OC.

But he has a lot to learn and improve on before he can beconsidered a good HC.

I think if you asked Haley, he would tell you the same thing.

He definitely has the passion, drive, and mindset to get the job done. He just needs time and consistency in his role and with the roster.

Herm also had amazing support from the players he coached. Didn't mean shit in regards to his actual coaching ability. Keep that in mind...

Haley has grown on me a bit. when he was hired I thought his attitude would cause him trouble and it did. Running Chan Gailey out of town 2 weeks before the season was a disaster. At times he appears to want to be a robot to the the Parcells model without really understanding why you do certain things. All the situations with guys losing weight and regressing was a perfect example of that. But I think he's shown the ability to admit and learn from mistakes and I'm beginning to think he can get it done. His less than enthusiastic remarks regarding Cassell were a big positive in my eyes. In this day and age to win in the NFL you need an aggessive offensive minded coach and that's one thing he is. Sadly, he'll probably end up being a scapegoat for Pioi's incompetence.

They're two different things.

That is a stretch.

Anyone see the irony in this post?

If that's a stretch, then Adam Schefter broke the rubberband with that quote in your sig.

Four. I liked some of the things he did. He's learning as a HC. Its been 40 years, i am sure we can wait another couple more.lol

I think bringing in Weis and Crennel are going to pay HUGE dividends ! Pendergast was incompetent and having Weis there as a go between Haley and the players is Good.

What I like most about Haley is that he admits when he's wrong and admits when he needs more help. He's not a douche(*Cough* JoshMcDaniels *Cough*) who thinks he can do it all.

I think the difference being that all the ones that praise Haley talk about how he made them better. How he pushed them to be better. I take that as a good sign.

Sure, Herm was liked but in a different way. He was one of the boys. Losing was okay. Making stupid mistakes was okay. We'll get 'em next time.

I think it's rather encouraging when I hear guys like Fitzgerald and Austin praise Haley while hearing that guys like Owens didn't like him.

That can't be. Everything I've heard is that Haley's a total asshole who is too arrogant to admit a mistake.

Owens didn't like him?

Have you heard Haleys side of it?

That is only a half truth and not to be trusted right?

LOL, I don't deny that I was irate when he was first hired. But he grew on me quickly. I really don't expect any 4th and 8 attempts from his own 28 next year. Better that though, than laying down playing Marty ball late in the 4th quarter. I LOVE HIS BALLS!!!!!

Now, he just needs to show he has a brain.

The front office is going to have to show something though in order for any of it to matter. Oh yeah, I'm talkin' bout da quarterback.
