That's the one thing I am so thankful about living here in Cody. The schools here are amazing. The one thing I think is totally awesome is every child from 6th grade on receives a laptop from the school district to use/take home & is replaced every 3 years. 90% of their work is done on them or via the net. But does suck that my 7th grader is so much better at Power Point & Excell than I am:cuss:

And having a child in the special needs program I can say they are 2nd to no one in the services they provide.:clap:

Biggest scam ever..............

Seems that I never hear about the state having problems funding the prisons to keep these low income blacks locked up. Never hear about budjet cuts, prison closing, or staff reductions there. But school budjets for the biggest, and most needy school districts always seem to dwindle.

I'm a teacher, and I agree to some extend. However, when those schools showed zero results after having far, far, far more money spent (and squandered) in that district as outlined in the article I posted... it's hard to feel a lot of sympathy for the morons running the place. Unfortunately, the teachers, taxpayers, and students are the one being punished... not those actually culpable.

Actually, the KCMO school district is a right winger's wet dream.

The money was so poorly allocated, so completely pissed away (on things like a swimming pool in an inner city school), so many things were lost to theft, corruption. or poor bookkeeping that one could use it as an excuse against an attempt to fund the underprivileged. It's a ****ing nightmare.

Exactly. There's a reason the Cato institute wrote up a huge report on this school district and that it constantly comes up in debates about public schooling and public school funding.

It sucks, but the morons running the place completely screwed the pooch.
