Season 2 of P&R is one of the best goddamn seasons of comedy ever.

People here are having a hard time believing us. At least we know what's up.

It's insane how many people skipped P&R every week but continued to watch the vastly inferior The Office.

(I'm still watching The Office, and it still shows flashes, but it is in distant 4th place on Thursday nights for sure)

That occurred to me when I got to Kim's nomination.

But I actually had assumed initially you just took who was nominated, which I believe are out.

P&R = awesome

But, Duke Silver > Ron Swanson, sorry.

I'd probably nominate the actor that plays Abed from Community in the supporting comedy role, though.

They'll be announced in July. I think July 8th? Something like that.

No, you don't know that for a fact. I got a few chuckles out of the funny Indian guy. That's about it.

You made a comment yesterday that the show was about dumb blond jokes and situations that dumb blonds get into. It was a description of a different show than Parks & Recreation; your description doesn't work. At all. I believed that you didn't watch the second season because, based on that comment, the only alternative to you not having seen it would be that you actually saw it but didn't understand it at all. And it isn't like P&R is a difficult show to understand. Basically, you either didn't watch it or you are mentally disabled. I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Is Season 2 the one that just finished airing in May? Or was that S3?

Which Season had the episode with the gay penguin wedding? Because that was absurdly hilarious.

I nominated him too. His name is Danny Pudi. @dannypudi on Twitter.

Season 2 is the one that recently ended. The episode you're thinking of was the season 2 premier.

Your reduction/deflection doesn't work. It doesn't deter in any way from your perception of P&R as "a show about a dumb blonde and jokes about her being a dumb blonde and the zany situations dumb blondes get into" when the "dumb blonde" in question (Amy Poehler's character) isn't even dumb. The character is smart, in fact, and dedicated to a fault. She's socially awkward and has an innocence & naivety about her but she is not dumb. This is all readily apparent to people who watch season 2.

(I will grant that the character was written as sort of dumb in season 1. Season 1 was a show that didn't know where its voice was or what its character really were. Your description sort of fits season 1; another reason why I thought - still do think, despite your protestations - that you hadn't watched season 2.)

Brock 06-30-2010 09:14 AM

She's basically playing a female Michael Scott, so yeah, she's a ditzy blonde.
