Bust? I dunno. Close to it, certainly, but 4.2 lifetime yards per rush and 2,500 yards. Is that a bust? Maybe.

My standard for "bust" is pretty high. Bust to me is Ryan Leaf, Charles Rogers, or someone who literally doesn't help your team AT ALL. Maroney was just mediocre.

Mike Shanahan really liked him and was thinking about drafting him so he should do good in Denver.

Schefter: For RB Laurence Maroney, New England gets Denver's fourth-round pick in 2011 and Denver gets New England's sixth-round pick in 2011.

Wow, talking about getting NOTHING for him. Maroney was worth the spread between a 4th and a 6th round pick. Why don't we get a bucket of warm spit with it? :shake:

It's funny to read all the twitter references...

So, cool... Denver now has Maroney. (crickets)

Enh, not bad... move down 2 rounds and get a RB.

He was literally the worst starting RB in the league...

...and now watch Denver homers act like he's good

Seriously, KnowMo, what's your story?

Lead paint chips? Blunt head trauma as a child? Product on an inferior public-school education?

For those counting, that gives the Patriots:

1st round: their own, plus the Raiders' pick

2nd round: their own, plus the Panthers' pick

3rd round: their own

4th round: their own, plus the Broncos' pick

plus one 5, one 6 (it was two before this trade) and one 7. Piling them up, as usual.

Good move by the Donks if he's that cheap. Probably won't see the ball much anyway, since both Moreno and Buckhalter are better runners than Maroney. But who knows.

Right, because Shanny and the Boy Wonder are running almost the exact same offense out there, right?

Business as usual at 1 Patriot Way (or whatever their address is).

Explain that one...I'm feeling slow.

That's pretty good compensation IMO. Denver will have a top 10 pick, NE will have a bottom 10 pick, and the 4th round >>>>>>>> 6th. The 6th is almost strictly for developmental guys. You can get some nice finds in the 4th.
