No love for Cloverfield?

Love that movie...still right up there with The Blair Witch Project as far as best marketing/build up to a movie.

Patiently awaiting a sequel now.

Not a bad movie, but not original in the least.

Cloverfield ripped off about four movies; Alien, Godzilla, Gammera, & Blair Witch.

Funny thing is, Blair Witch completely ripped off The Last Broadcast...you NEVER hear about that.

Everyone thinks TBWP was this brand new fresh genius idea when it really wasn't.

Good point, I never heard of The Last Broadcast until 2007.

One of the reasons I liked Cloverfield so much is that I really believed Abrams and Reeves tried to pay homage to Godzilla and Toho and the fact that it took something perceived as hokey (an unknown monster attacking a major city) and made it feel very realistic.

Seeing that movie in theaters was a friggin' blast...also gave me high hopes for a new Zilla that will be equally cool to watch in a theater.

Speaking of new giant monster movies, The Troll Hunter looks like it has potential...
