I voted Pittsburg just because NE is a tad harder to beat at home than the Steelers are, but now I think I was wrong.

I think our organization probably knows more about what the Patriots do than the Patriots know about what we do. Yeah both teams should know each other pretty well, but I think we get the nod for knowing them... course they probably still beat us, but every bit helps.

I voted Pittsburgh because it would mean we have a shot at hosting the AFC Championship game. If there is no hope, what's the point?

I think we actually match up better with the Patriots. The Steelers were a few yards away from setting the NFL record for fewest rushing yards allowed this year. I'd rather take my chances with the Pats defense.

I say NE. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. And...yes it would provide a good storyline too.

But...let's win a game first.

So you're not watching this week's game?

Old Dog 01-04-2011 10:45 AM

You lost me at "assuming we win"

DBOSHO 01-04-2011 10:56 AM

If we lose to baltimore you are banned from chiefsplanet forever.

JD10367 01-04-2011 10:59 AM

I voted Patriots. Obviously. :D

I was just realizing, if I can work it, I might get to see the Chiefs twice: two weeks from now in a playoff game, and next season when they come to Foxboro. :thumb: Hope some of you come out for either game!

Secondly we have inside info on the mind of their coach; though the same could be said of Belicheck knowing Crennel/Weis's coaching tendencies as well. I think the NE game would be also a more favorable of a road game because Cassel will be much more familar with Foxboro and what to prepare for up there. Just my $0.02 and that said let's beat Crackmore before we plan for week 2 of the playoffs. :thumb:

This. That said, I hate looking ahead and rather than see us be the first team to go to the playoffs 7 straight times without a playoff win, I'll just be happy if we win.

Tough pick, here. Now that I think about it, though, the one player that scares me more than any other from these two teams is Troy Polamalu. For that reason I'm now leaning NE.

WebGem 01-04-2011 12:37 PM

I'm surprised there are so many votes for NE.

WV 01-04-2011 12:53 PM

ANYONE but the Steelers.....I have an irrational hate for those bastards.

Simply Red 01-04-2011 01:02 PM

ok, how about YOU **** off?

Hootie 01-04-2011 01:03 PM

I put a shit ton of money on the Colts (-2.5)...

what an easy ****ing bet

I think the tipper is the belief that the Chiefs would have an edge due to Pioli, Weis, Crennel, and Cassel having familiarity with Belichick and the Pats (not without merit). Also, I think people underestimate the Pats because they do it with guys with names like Danny Woodhead and Benjarvus Green-Ellis.

Pitt is an enigma, really. They seem to be a solid team, they have a great record, they won with and without the Rapist, their O-line isn't as good but the Rapist balances that out with his scrambling, they can run, they can throw, they can defend, they're well coached.... And yet, with all that, they won some games with underwhelming and unimpressive scores. They started off by beating Atlanta in Heinz, but by 15-9. They beat Tennessee, but by 19-11. They crushed Tampa, then lost to Baltimore by a FG (no shame there). Beat the Browns handily (28-10) but then eked out a one-point win over Miami, lost to the Saints by 10, beat the unimpressive Bengals by 6, got beaten at home by the Pats by 13 in a game that wasn't that close. Bounced back by crushing Oakland, then got pushed to the brink by the woeful Bills (winning by 3). Eked out a 3-point win over the Ravens (very good) and blew out Cincy, then lost to the Jets before blowing out the woeful Panthers and Browns.
