eh, neither was last year's repository. The Gameday threads that I happen to start are never official, either.

Mike Moustakas (mid-June)

Eric Hosmer (September)

Will Myers (converted to RF, MiLB player of the year)

Mike Montgomery (September)

Danny Duffy (mid-June)

John Lamb (misses September call up but buzz is he's ready for 2012, Opening Day)

Christian Colon (moves to 2B with Escobar on board, goes from a plus-plus SS bat with average to minus glove, to plus-2B bat with plus-glove)

Aaron Crow (will either bounce back as a starter or be a quick mover as a reliever by midseason)

Chris Dwyer (see Lamb)

Lorenzo Cain (mid-June)

The next wave (Cuthbert, Ventura, Yambati, Melville, Sample, Eibner, Odorizzi)

On the big-league club...

Alcides Escobar (can he live up to the previous hype by bouncing back with the bat?)

The bullpen (Soria's brilliance gets backed up by host of young, cheap arms, including Jeffress and Chapman and Timmy Collins).

We're going to spend a lot of time watching the Naturals and Omaha (I refuse to refer to the team by the abortion of a name the dumbs hicks in Nebraska stuck to it).

You left out Jason Kendall's hopeful return in June.

I would say the Yankees aren't that stupid, but.... well, they did sign that absurd setup reliever contract today....

Yankee fan reaction to Soriano

Quote:

Oh my god. What a f**king reeruned thing to do. Jesus Christ.

I mean not only are we giving up a first rounder in a stacked draft, we're giving it to TAMPA.

So Cashman swears they won't go more than 3 years on Jeter, then swears they will not be giving up their first rounder. Montero is gonna be traded for Joel Pineiro at this rate.

3/35. Jesus f**king Christ. Who is running this ship?

alnorth 01-14-2011 10:00 PM

hahahahaha

Quote:

“He had no interest in paying Soriano $15 million a year, not when it was going to cost the Yankees a prospect in June’s draft. But Cashman was feeling pressure from ownership to make a move; he agreed to take on Soriano against his wishes. This was one of the few times since 2006, when George Steinbrenner withdrew from the day-to-day operations, that Cashman had been overruled.”
When you have more money than God *AND* you are run by a smart GM, thats not fair. It is about damned time the Yankees did something reeruned.

You know best Hal and Hank, dont listen to your GM, you run your team the way you KNOW it should be run! ROFL I wish the Yankees many more stupid moves in the future.

edit: here's something to hope for. The new Yankee owners are so disruptive and interfere so much that Cashman decides to quit to be the GM for some other team, thus depriving the Yankees of one of the smartest GM's in baseball. New York cant win every year if they spend their money stupidly, money gives you an advantage but if you have a moron for a GM (or owner) then its meaningless.
