I agree with you on that.

I don't think id be able to go more than 60 on a bike. **** that.

I've gone 135 in a car once at like 6 in the morning on a Sunday. No traffic so I just said, **** it, let me see how fast I can go.

Topped out the speedo at 120 in my 68 LeMans.
With a friend, he buried the 140 speedo in his 72 Road Runner

I took a 97 Kia on a test drive without the salesman. Decided to see what it could do as I went onto the highway. On an uphill entrance, I hit 100 when I merged. I was shocked I was going that fast in that little 4-banger!

121 according to the cop who pulled me over. I don't know because the speedometer only went to 85. When he asked me if I knew how fast I was going all I could say was "more than 85, officer".

Hit 186 on my hayabusa once mid-Kansas on a ride to Dodge City. I wanted to see if there was really a top speed governor on there.

Indeed there is..

You guys on bikes are nuts. I was doing about 110 on 70 on the way to Topeka when a strong wind hit the side of my car and suddenly I was in the other lane and I hadn't turned the steering wheel.

1998 Kia Sephia - 105 mph on the highway.

It sounded like I was in a beer can and it felt like the doors were going to come off.

I'm surprised they didn't.

2 wheels: 145 on the autobahn (not one of the smartest things I've ever done)
4 wheels: 120 or so, also on the autobahn

Here in the US, I don't think I've ever been over 100 on a bike (and don't intend to be) and probably 100-110 in a car in my younger days.

It looks like there are quite a few on here that have (or had in some cases including mine) more balls than brains in a few instances.

*disclaimer. I can't imagine doing that now, and the autobahn is MUCH more suited to that kind of speed than are our interstates here at home.

My top speed was a good while ago, lost a friend after a crash at 120+ and I haven't really opened it up like that since.

I look back at my dumbassery fondly, but can reconigize it as dumbassery now.

125 in my 93 Nissan Maxima back in '00 or so. I was 16 and f***ing reeruned. Did it on the east loop of 435 headed north, there's a stretch just south of the I-70 exit where it's like six lanes. Really dumb.

Fish 04-08-2011 11:58 AM

158 MPH, Katana 750. Vision definitely started to blur at that point...

I was really really really stupid in my younger years...

morphius 04-08-2011 12:01 PM

~152 CBR 600

Never felt the urge to go that fast again since.

Buddy in HS has a seriously modded Mustang. Was in the passenger's seat when he took it to 165.

Took my 69 Nova WELL past the 120 on the dash, but no idea the exact MPH.

Have taken my 99 GTP to it's chip-limited 138 MPH 10-12 times through the years. There's a stretch of 255 over in Madison County that's very flat and very straight, out in the middle of the river flats, and I'd often find myself taking it home late in the evening.
