Seen one Der Weinerschnitzel in my life, right by the Dolly Madison and Smokestack [Smoke, not Jack], off 71 behind the Sears Outlet. Closed when I was like 5.

Our friends bring some good dogs back from Michigan. They just call them "Michigan hotdogs".

We buy National Hebrew, but I've been eying the Boar's Head wieners in the deli case.

Also

Brats > wieners.

Give the Boar's Head a try they are pretty good. They have a nice casing that gives a good snap when you bite into them.

I buy Hebrew National, but I'll say this about them- they're great when they're hot. Once you let them cool for a minute they taste like a Slim Jim.

Natural Casings.

My grandma used to buy some from a meat market in Wahoo, NE and we just called them Wahoo weinies. They were damn good too.

Consider yourself lucky. Walking by it is even unpleasant due to the stench and the line of soulless masochists shuffling up for another bag of barely congealed grease.

I DID however, find a street vendor on my way home and got a hot dog from him. It had brown mustard, relish, diced onions, mayo, pastrami, and jalapenos on it. It hit the spot.

(insert sodomy joke here (insert "insert" joke here))

I tried the Boar's Head dogs tonight and they weren't nearly as good as National Hebrew. One less thing I have to wonder about in my life.
