If you read the article, the video is shortened. They actually go on beating him for TEN MINUTES until they finally realize that the man can't move.

It'd happen..

Not if you physically could not after being tazed several times.

I hope these pigs are fired and serve some time.

Dude said multiple times during the beating that he COULDN'T roll over. You think at that point....you'd stop....and roll him over.

Yes, because disobedience is a reason to get your head caved in.

I wonder what a white man riot in Humphreys County, TENN would look like?

That's a typo, he was actually convulsing and foaming at the mouth...

We're getting to the point that everyday we see a video like this aren't we?

I bet the guy wishes he kept his hands out of his pockets though!

good point. it all started going downhill from there.

Once you have an offender on the ground and have him under control, your duty is to secure him in to handcuffs and then place him in to a transport vehicle as soon as possible to restrict his movements further. The three deputies had him under control in the first 30 seconds of him initially resisting. The offender served absolutely no threat to them after the first 30 seconds, and therefore, should not have been struck, tazed, or otherwise been subjected to any type of pain compliance. The only reason the offender served any threat to those officers is because they provided him with the opportunity to and therefore created the situation to "justify" the continued pain compliance techniques (for 10 more minutes, so the story reports). This is a text-book example of police brutality.

It's more frightening to think about all of the times things like this happen and it isn't filmed.

Did those officers go overboard? You bet. But could the whole thing have been avoided if the prick obeyed the order to keep his hands out of his pocket? Yup!

The cops were responding to a shots fired call. This prick is reaching in his pocket and they don't know for sure if he's the guy w/ a gun or not. The cops reaction is excessive, but what did the guy expect to happen?

I'm not saying a cop is never wrong. But I'm saying the time to try and argue civil rights is not when a cop is in front of you and telling you to keep your hands where he can see them. Don't give a cop a reason to kick the shit out of you especially if you're innocent.

OK, say you're a cop and a drunk guy refuses to comply with your orders. Your first thought is, "Let's strip him naked and beat the shit out of him"?

Well...yeah. But that's for personal reasons!

You know and I know there's more to it than that. I didn't say the police weren't excessive. They were. And Deliverance boy will get a nice pay day/shut up check soon. But he still gave the cops enough of a reason to light him up.
