OK, 29 is good to Glenwood? I was looking at 34E to 59S. Does 71S move pretty well?

Just made the trip this weekend.

Take I-29 to 92E which is bascially the first exit off I-29. Head east until you find Why 59 South. This takes you through Shenendoah and Tarkio. Right after Tarkio the 59 becomes 136W if you continue to go straight (which is advised) this takes you to Rock Port and back to your normal I-29 route to KC. It added on about an hour to our trip but it was pretty easy.

The drive through Iowa sucks ass, 55 mph all the way. (BTW **** you for that Iowa)

But it jumps to 60 at the MO border and then 65 in Maryville. And very little traffic along the way.

Timewise it's probably a toss up between 59 and 71.

Wouldn't go all the way to 71, adds to much distance and time to trip. Wouldn't choose 59 over Hwy 275 because it is a heavier used detour. 275 South, which is about 7-8 miles East of Glenwood, goes through Tabor, Sidney, and to 136W into Rock Port and get back on I-29 South. Only adds about 20-25 miles to trip and moves really well.

The best one would go through Paris, Tuscany, and Bora Bora.

Get on 80 west and drive for about 500 miles. You'll never want to go to KC again.

Maybe next time you can do a better job picking a username that reflects where you came from.

Oh, wow. I see it now that you mention it.

Damn! They were worried about flooding here but the MO has been receding here.

Is 29 open all the way from Rockport to KC? It looks like I want to take 59 south to just north of Mound City. Then I should be able to take 29 all the way into KC. Does that sound right?

The map shows it being closed.

Unless something has changed that I'm not aware of, that should be fine.
