I wouldn't mind picking up another big, capable TE, but I don't really think this is where the chiefs should be spending their money. We have more important needs to address.

Then we have four of the same player, essentially. If we're going to open up the offense, we need a slot receiver with legit speed, someone who can stretch the field vertically or provide speed and elusiveness underneath.

true but you can also go with 2 tightends/2 big Wrs(who can block) and a single back set. Lots of stretch plays that leads to play-action-pass.

if that is your base set and you can run or pass with equal effectiveness it would create problems for a defense.
