Blake Brockermeyer ended up playing quite a bit over 8-9 years for the Panthers and Bears before fading away with the Donkeys. Difference in one spot in the draft.

Come on he was pick #31...not like Ki-Jana Carter pick #1.

Atleast carter had a reason he was a huge bust

I actually liked the read. Circumstances dictate everything in our lives. Sometimes circumstances preclude us from reaching objectives - sometimes they propel us to something bigger. Jenkins, obviously, a victim to the former has coped and made something of his life anyway. I liked his perspective. There's a lot more to live than the NFL.

you are the determining factor though, right?

At first I wondered why a picture of Jason Whitlock was doing at the top of the article.

I liked the article also, and liked how he talked with Schottenheimer and a few former players and tied in with some of the other first rd picks on the team.

I gave it a thumbs up! :thumb:

I also like the "where are they now" stories. Jenkins was a completed waste of a pick, but he seems to have his stuff packed into one sock, at this point in time.

Good for Trezelle. Sometimes things don't work out and you move on. Too bad he'll have that "bust" thing hanging over his head for the rest of his life.

Okay, but it will take about 6 men to hold him down.

It's nice to know he's will to take responsibility for his lack of success. Fairly rare to admit it.

he just wanted to do the CP poke.

speaking of which; Isn't this a misleading thread title? I about spit my coffee out when I read it, thinking we re-signed Jenkins.

Are you a determinist?

Here's my argument against determinism: nobody gives a shit.

There.

He sucked, but it's not like it's uncommon for players at the end of the first round to flame out.

That and he was a reach to begin with.

Good read, enjoyed it.

yea, Ryan Sims was a much bigger bust. Especially considering we could have had Freeney, John Henderson or Haynsworth. Any of those three would have helped solidify our 2003 playoff defense. Jenkins being a bust didnt really hurt the team overall much.
