Brees was pretty crappy in his rookie and 2nd seasons, which is why the Chargers drafted Rivers to begin with.

Brady 5th rounder, Albert Pujols 13th rounder, Montana, 3rd rounder, Priest Holmes undrafted.....that's a whole lot of teams failing.
