I recommend postponing the trip for a few months and going in the heat of the summer. Then check out Wreck Beach. Its a nude beach that happens to be across the street from the University of British Columbia. Its got lots of old weirdos selling recreational drugs and a ton of naked college coeds.

Haha, I am pretty married to the date but that sounds like quite the mix of humanity.

Some good suggestions though I think I will have to stick to the downtownish area.

Hitting up a 2 game Sporting Kansas City roadtrip where they play against Vancouver and Portland.

Also, learn Cantonese. The majority of the city is made up of Hong Kong expats.

Really? I would have never thought of that.

Big time. When Britain gave Hong Kong back to China, everyone who could afford it got the **** out of dodge, and Vancouver was the spot of choice.

The funny thing is that, when you're in the middle of the city, you would swear that there were 10 million people in the city. Its filled with high-rises and feels like New York. In actuality, it's the size of Kansas City. Its just really compact and vertical.

its hard to grasp how little Canada is in terms of population. Vancouver has a metro area of 2.1 million people or 90,000 more than Kansas City, and Vancouver is the third biggest city in Canada and is about double the size of the fourth biggest city.

add an eh? to the end of your sentences.

A friend of mine said you can enjoy Vancouver and not spend a whole lot of money...that it is pretty cheap. But he isn't really a go to guy with information of that nature I took it with a grain of salt.

If you are at all attracted to the bitter herb, Vancouver "BC Bud" is stuff of legend.

yeah and you can get it anywhere. Literally walk into an herb shop where people are toking up and procure some.

The city isn't too bad, but the exchange rate is terrible. Everything is 20% more expensive there. It used to balance out because our dollar was worth more than theirs. Now, they are about even.
