I used to work at Papa's as a pizza maker (also was a manager for two years) and I ****ing hated drivers. Easiest ****ing job on earth. They never have to lift a damn finger, the guys who work inside cook the pizzas and box them up and you just drive all day. Most of the drivers that worked at my Papa Johns just rode around and got high all day.

How much will you make? It depends on where you live and how busy you are. The Papa Johns where I worked was in a small West Virginia town but the drivers still pocketed around 75-100 bucks on Fridays and Saturdays (two busiest days of the week). And if you get lucky you could get a 50 dollar tip if you deliver to a high school or some office party or something.

In summary, delivering pizzas is one of the easiest jobs you can have.

:LOL:Ok, that made me laugh.

I delivered pizzas back in the early to mid 80's. Can't offer much advice, but if someone tips you a beer, take it. :)

Also, find extra coupons for those times when the customer pays cash, you can just add the coupon later for a little tip.....assuming that's even possible. It was easy to do back the day....so I hear. ;)

Question for those that have done the job.

Pizza is my favorite food. Does driving around with the smell of it all night drive you nuts? Or do you get used to it?

That's exactly when I first started working as a driver for Pizza Hut.
If I'd been more responsible...I could've stacked alot of money.

Having money everyday requires alot more discipline than being paid every two weeks.

It didn't bother me. It was all I ate for 2 summers while going to college. Never tired of it.

Papa John's drivers are the worst! The last one I robbed I only got like 40 bucks and.......errrr wait.....nevermind.

That's cool. 100 a night in tips would be fantastic. The place I'm delivering is in South Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. I don't know much about it. I hear mixed things about Broken Arrow. There's some upscale neighborhoods and bad neighborhoods from what I hear. I live in Tulsa. It's a short drive to BA.

Thing is, companies were more liberal then.
They never capped the number of runs a driver could take.
Much different system now. Now it's not unusual for a driver to be capped at 1-2 runs per trip. Cuts into your money.

Drivers hate guys like me. I always do carry out to avoid paying a tip. :)

Another GREAT point. Gas was $1-$1.50 when I was driving.
Now? I'm not sure I could do that job.

You CAN file for your mileage, but you'll have to report your tips.

Tires & Insurance was cheaper too

When I worked for Dominos back in the 80's we made minimum wadge + 4.5% to 6% depending on how many you delivered in a night plus tips... Back then I averaged bout 12 bucks an hour when it was busy

This was back in the 80's and not bad money

that's gay, I'd take however many you could as long as it made sense with the direction I'd go. I also hear that although most places charge a delivery fee, none of it goes to the driver, which is gay to the extreme because a lot of people mistake that as a gratuity and companies just take the money to offset labor costs.

I bet it sucks doing it for a corporate place, like papa johns.
