Saints have a defense that relied purely on getting turnovers. When that doesn't happen, you tend to lose. You can't always depend on getting turnovers to win games. At some point on defense you have to be able to shut people down without turnovers.

Sounds familiar......like 2003 familiar......

There are thuggish asshole teams, and there are dirty teams that either stay within the rules or know how not to get caught. The Raiders get caught constantly. Fisher teams usually don't. (Or at least not as much)

Anyone who nicknames themselves "Dr. Heat" is a certifiable jackass.

Wait, he did that? Is he a tenor sax player or something?

You have to wonder if there's a lot of truth to the idea that a quick strike passing team has to be surrounded by this kind of defense. Thing is, it's not like New Orleans has a ton of talent on the defensive side. It's possible that Williams knows that this is his best shot at winning. I just remember that in Washington, he had one of the stingiest defenses in the game.

Yea exactly. I think its extremely hard in todays parity game to build a top playmaking team on both sides of the ball. I think the NY Giants have the best all around team in the game right now.

Fisher
OC: Schottenheimer
DC: Williams

That's a pretty impressive set of coaches right there. I know "they all suck" and whatever, but kudos to the Rams for bringing in people at the very top of most people's short lists.

The team will be fundamentally sound, if nothing else.

They better have a better backup QB than Collins this time around
still think Bradford is every bit as brittle as a Bradford pear tree in an ice storm

What exactly has Lil Shotty done that is "impressive"? They are all just "names".

HemiEd 01-16-2012 01:32 PM

Glad he is with the Rams, don't want him working for KC.

The Bad Guy 01-16-2012 01:33 PM

The more football posts Direckshun makes, the more I think he's a Chiefzilla dupe.
