Also discount is also determined by freight in what is called a lane... if it's a hot lane for LTL you get it cheaper... Florida freight is high because alot goes in and not much comes out....

give me an approx zip code to and from

Not every company is going to let Joe Blow on their property with a Uhaul to deliver freight

Thanks for the info on the class. And I understand what you're saying here but I'm not looking for some Joe Blow. Just looking for someone who has a connection and can A) Save me some money B) Whoever gets my money helps a friend or family member of a Planet member.

You know anyone who owns a business and ships? That will get you the best discount

My business ships a lot through UPS but their rates are still higher than some of the other freight companies I've contacted.

Thats a pretty long haul and won't be cheap No discount for 2300 lbs you are looking at 3500 bucks but if you call you should be able to get half off of that

FedEx and UPS are expensive for LTL. Go to www.freightquote.com and you'll be able to compare about 30 different companies and choose either the lowest rate or the one you feel most comfortable with.

You could also use www.uship.com where truck drivers bid on your shipment.

Good luck to you Ia

It's all going to depend on which trucking companies run that route or have freight hubs near where you are going. Sounds like US 71 to I-35.

Our company uses several different freight lines, and our shipping manager has a good feel for who is cheapest to go where.

In general, we use (among others) MME, Beaver Express, R+L and JB Hunt.

Good luck!

I signed up a freightquote.com and a very helpful gentleman called me within a few minutes. he explained a lot to me. Their prices are significantly lower than I was finding elsewhere.

Yeah, I don't use them as much as I used to, but I still integrate their web service API's into client websites quite a bit to allow customers to do real-time LTL freight quotes during checkout. I've always had good feedback about their services.

They're based in Lenexa, too, so it's nice to know they're close.

You want to be careful on this site, there are a TON of unlicensed truckers that bid on shipments.
