I don't remember the Steelers winning the Super Bowl last year.

Rausch 08-08-2012 11:23 AM

The guy is going up against Pitt's defense.

Yeah, their talent level is pretty good. An early reality check for a rookie is also good...

truth. Also, he may think he has the mental part down but I'll bet there are many techniques and tricks he has yet to learn.

I'd bet it's more the rookie shock of "Holy $#it! EVERYONE here is about my talent level."

saphojunkie 08-08-2012 11:30 AM

It doesn't mean the guy's a bust, but certainly the idea that he was going to come in and be a ten year probowler - yeah...reality check.

My point is that, once again, I was wrong about needing to draft a guard that high. Totally wrong. God, think how pissed everyone here would be.

Yeah. As you said, especially with a team like the Steelers.

David De Castro to Guards = Tony Mandarich to tackles.

Nothing like that or like Robert Gallery, another "can't miss" Tackle. It's not like De Castro was taken 2nd in the draft...I bet in time he starts and has a fine career.

And I'll bet that in time Jeff Allen starts and has an equally fine career.

Wow. Jumps to training camp conclusions much?

Take this article for what it is. It's an evaluation on DeCastro before he's even seen an NFL field.

Correct. And now we know that there was a reason he fell all the way to 24 even with all the media hype.

I only posted that based of all the predraft hype they both received. If deCastro busts, that comparison is still valid.

Bust he hasn't quite made the all pro yet. What idiots on here already saying he sucks. How's Poe doing? I suspect struggling a little since he struggled to dominate college kids.

Demonpenz 08-08-2012 12:21 PM

heard Poe was more physical than he apears on film on 810 today. That was a surprise.
