You draft for a franchise QB hopefully, so there's no need for Quinn. You hopefully spend a mid-rounder or two on OL. And invest in ILBs in the draft.

Not sure if serious?

Totally agree with this.

I think it would be a mistake to do the wait and see with Dorsey. The guy is the Chiefs best d-linemen sure he's out of place but he's still very good.

Hog's Gone Fishin 08-20-2012 12:48 AM

Long term deals during the season with Dorsey and Albert should be the main priority and Hillis also if he performs. Then everything else is manageable.

KCrockaholic 08-20-2012 01:20 AM

If you franchise Bowe again we are paying him about 12 million based on the new CBA rules.

Munson 08-20-2012 01:28 AM

Bowe is obviously the priority. If he ends up leaving, we damn well better get some high draft picks in return.

Albert is a middle of the road LT, but he's worth re-signing. No need to waste a top pick on a LT in next year's draft.

Hillis should be given a new contract. I have a feeling he's gonna have a real nice year, and make key plays throughout the season. But since he only signed a 1 year deal, he's probably looking to sign a big contract somewhere else next year.

Name the 15 starters better than Albert and the 16 worse.

Last year Albert was arguably a top 10 LT. It would be wise to keep that around.

This is a position where I think the Chiefs have been preparing for his replacement. So I don't think this is going to hurt us as much.

Losing Albert will hurt a lot. Because we have to hope Stephenson is ready to step in right away. Either that or we'll have to overpay for another Left Tackle, who wasn't good enough to be a priority for another team.

mcaj22 08-20-2012 01:54 AM

i do find it hard to believe they get a long term deal done with Dorsey AND pay Jackson 14 million next year. So like 1/3 of the cap will be in 3 d-lineman. Not good.

Options are probably
Dorsey Walk-Keep Jackson
Dorsey Sign-Cut Jackson
Dorsey Sign-Jackson restructure (I doubt this)
The Dorsey Sign-Jackson 14 million just doesnt make sense cap wise, we will have absolutely nothing to spend in FA and people will piss and crap themselves over their FA wishlist when we go diving into the bottom of the barrel for the Bobby Engrams and Tony Ugohs.

saphojunkie 08-20-2012 01:55 AM

Extend Bowe, Albert, Colquitt in season.

Try to sign toribio, Dorsey.

Draft Manti Te'o and watch as he becomes the next great ILB in the league.

KCrockaholic 08-20-2012 01:56 AM

Dorsey will be gone. JMO. They will attempt to replace him in the mid rounds, or through free agency.

Hopefully he goes to a 4-3 team.

I knew somebody wouldn't like that.

I just don't see him as an elite LT. Yeah, he's mostly good at pass blocking and run blocking, but I don't think he excels at either. Outside of AFC West fans, I don't think many people could name him as our LT. But like I said, he's worth re-signing.

mcaj22 08-20-2012 02:01 AM

"hes mostly good at pass blocking and run blocking"

what in the blue hell else do you want your LT to be good at? Giving Cassel a handjob? What more do you want
