.22's are deadly at close range.

A 92 year old doesn't want to have to redecorate his house, and why bother when you are a crack shot?

Not another senseless gun related death. The horror. Oh, the horror.

My town is experiencing a rash of home burglaries, at night, while people are home. They're breaking doors or prying open windows and stealing purses, wallets etc.

Last night, a neighbor whom I've talked about in another thread(Gilbert Grape's mama) called reminding me that their home had been broken into this weekend and she'd seen someone at their window again. I told her if she'd shut up long enough, I'd go have a look.....because when seconds count, the police are minutes away.

She said something about fearing they'd break into my house...and I told her "well, that's their bad Idea because inside this door, they'll get shot in the face".

The old man in this story did it right. Good for him.

Outstanding! It sounds like the old boy could use donations for a new .22. If he lived in Montana, I would run down to Cabela's, pick one up and drop it off myself, along with a few bricks of ammo.

The only part if this story I don't like is his comments about wishing another one would come up so he could kill another person. You shouldn't ever want to kill, it should be last resort. Not saying his actions weren't warranted but there are so many ppl out there just wanting any reason they can to shoot somebody. I hope I never have to kill anybody

**** that noise. He has been robbed multiple times and is worried that they might come back again. Might as well meet them face to face when he knows he's got the drop on them. Next time, he might not be so fortunate.

Add a "3" to the .22. Gramps needs more firepower. :bang:

Not sure he needs something with a lot of kick...

Right, his actions were justified. I'm sure I'd have done the same thing if i was him. I sure wouldn't have wished to have the opportunity to take another life though. I just hear armed ppl all the time wish that someone would even remotely step on thier property so they can blow someones head off. That is what bothers me about SOME gun owners

You hear them say that about "people"? There is no modifier to that word in order to winnow down the type of "people" to whom they refer?

Sure he did - once. It's great that he dropped the one who sucks the penis with one shot - but that won't happen all the time.

A .22 is a very poor choice for a home defense weapon.

He's 92. A .22 is plenty powerful for someone that age. Plus I doubt anyone will be on his property now.
