You can still get it. Just have to apply in a branch, and rewards aren't as juicy as they once were.

It's been about 4 years, but the AmEx Blue Cash was the best option for me when I got it. I got about $1,500 in cash back in 2011 and $1,000 last year. I put absolutely everything that I can on that card, though.

I need cash back because I'm trying to save money, so I'm not looking for any perks other than cash or gas.

It's been revamped. Not quite as good as it once was. Honestly, if you want the best cash back, you'll need to use multiple cards.

I use the Chase Freedom for the 5% categories and a Fidelity Investments Amex for 2% back on everything else. I'm looking for a new card or two that have good bonuses that don't require a lot of spending in the first few months to get them.
