Henne/Gabbert vs Smith

You couldn't pay me to go to that game.

I live in Atlanta and have made plenty of trips to Jacksonville for work. I can usually get it done in 5 hours. Count me and the wife in.

Bewbies 04-22-2013 10:27 AM

I'm in ATL, might go to JAX or TEN game. Have to see how it shakes out.

You get to see the #1 and #2 overall picks play. LMAO

I am checking airline costs. There are a few different things I wouldn't mind doing this fall. This or a road trip with some friends to Nashville for a Mizzou/Chiefs weekend.

Sounds like a good place to tailgate. How many cars can we get in there?

Probably 25 or 30. There's some bigger lots about 1 block over on Talleyrand that are really good for tailgating too, although I think they are like 10 or 20 bucks to park.

Or if Smith gets hurt it could be Daniel showing up Gabbert.

This schedule is doing the Chiefs a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE favor.

If this team can't go 4-3 heading into week 8 there's nothing to go watch...

Just curious.... Have any of y'all been to a game in Jacksonville/Alltel/ SomethingBank Stadium in summer? "****ing hot" is not even close to accurate. People routinely spontaneously burst in to flame in the upper decks. Don't get me wrong, I'm going, but I'm hoping for the rare summer cold snap...low 90's.

My wife and I really want to make that game and the Nashville one.

How far from the stadium is the walk?

BlackHelicopters 04-22-2013 04:01 PM

Nothing says Moat Boring City in the USA like JAX.

It's about 6 or 8 blocks. The lots on Talleyrand and Albert are probably a block or 2 closer but have a little more room and are a little easier to find for people that aren't familiar with the city.

You are right there. These 1:00 games are really tough. Take a good hat. They do these on purpose because they know the visiting teams can't handle the heat. They also make the visiting team wear the darker unis.

Cracks me up that the players all have misters spraying on them over on the bench. The fans die out there.

One great thing about the stadium is the Bud Zone. It's in the south end zone and it's a great big bar area with TV's and a/c that folks go to meet up. They have a big patio area outside to watch the game live too.

When I go with a small group, we buy the cheapest tickets anywhere in the stadium and then meet up there.

If it gets too hot for you, you can converge in there.
