I agree, but not much you can do these days. Taxes are the spawn of Satan. Infrastructure couldn't be any lower on our order of importance.

Pretty sad. Maybe we could privatize this shit!

Too bad that $0.184 tax on EVERY gallon isn't enough to maintain our bridges, eh?

That's some scary shit.

My buddy lives outside Minn/St. Paul, MN area where a few years back that hwy bridge collapsed, and he crossed it just hours before it collapsed.

Apparently, it is not. People are not taking it for vacations to Malibu and retirement, that money is being doled out to the states.

How it is being spent isn't the same as how it is being taken.

~$30 billion per year is taken per year, just in gasoline taxes alone, not to mention diesel. The entire interstate system was built by ~$500 billion.

Taxes aren't the problem.

Blame Tesla....actually it is somewhat of a serious issue. Because of the CAFE mandated standards MPG is going up which means less gas taxes = less transportation spending. It's going to be an increasing problem in the future.

No "ban bridges" comment?

CP is slacking.

Demonpenz 05-23-2013 09:42 PM

You choose to live in an area with bridges but didn't build a basement?
