So let's just do a theoretical scenario. If I have DTV and my buddy has a slingbox. Can I go to his house and watch all the programming I get at home at his house? Could my TV at home even be on the same channel, like if my gf is watching the same program we are at my friend's house?

If someone isn't running virus/malware protection, don't click that link.

I've found it so hit-and-miss with DTV. If you're under contract with them, they'll basically hang up on you. If you're coming due, they'll probably give it to you for free but nail you with 2 more years and high rates.

I'm done with it.

I've done NFL Rewind before, but you have to wait until the Sunday night game ends, which means I have to "stay dark" off of media until 9:00 or 9:30 my time and then I can watch it. That ain't easy.

Never go on a contract with them and threaten to go to Dish if they don't help you out.

They know the game, and they know only 1% of the customers know.

How can you not go on contract with them? Can you even get their service without doing that?

I have not been on a contract for years. Last year they lost Nick for a month and I called and threatened to leave for Dish. I told the lady to give me what she could.

They gave me Sunday Ticket, all of the movie channels, and 30 bucks off a month for a year. I only agreed to their terms if I did not have a conract.

I have had Direct TV for a decade, and I am very nice and polite when I deal with them and they have been awesome every time.

wheeler08 06-29-2013 05:14 AM

I called last year when nick was off to jew them and I got $100 off of sunday ticket

Bwana 06-29-2013 05:55 AM

It took me three calls last year but I got a decent deal. In previous years, it only took one call. I guess I'll see what happens this go around, but they seem to be getting more puckered up every season.

Nah, the opposite. You have to have the slingbox at the location from where you are getting the programming FROM. So you'd have to give it to someone in the KC area and have them sling the games to you. Not sure about the second question.

crazycoffey 06-29-2013 10:56 AM

What about just ordering KC programming for local channels?
