That doesn't necessarily translate to stronger connective tissue, bones, ligaments etc - the usual locations and mechanisms of injury.

I've heard this before and this I buy. Dudes are getting huge and putting some real demand on their tendons and ligaments- which can be the breaking point for sure.

I tore a thumb ligament skiing back in the day, and it didn't take much but the surgery and rehab hurt like a bitch and took forever. Creepiest and completely uncomfortable feeling to feel a wire looped through 2 holes they drilled completely through my thumbbone as they pulled one end back through to remove it.

I don't think it is effecting injuries. but, I do see it has effected the quality of the game, particularly in the OL and how overall offense is executed.

also, I think rehab tech is at a level now where "playing condition" isn't so critical to achieve going into pre season.

but still, I miss the more cohesive, more gracefully executed unit type game.

They haven't done that since... Vermeil?

I'd much rather have that than playing like feces against Buffalo every year to open the season.

What's interesting about this approach is that it sometimes makes your team a little worn early on, but in the second half of the season, you're miles ahead of everyone else.

Of course, you have Romeo... who somehow managed to make this team soft from beginning to end.

If, when stepping out of the shower, you catch your dog eyeing that lump and drooling, beware...
