Who the **** is trading for that midget?

That's a good question but I hear announcers like Mayock say good things about him so there may be a team we can trade for a bologna samwich for. Andy Reid may jump on that.

In a thirty minute drive to work, I heard people in earnest say "Alex Smith is Cassel." And "We should have won by 35 points." And "Where was Bowe?" And "We can't block for Charles." And "Our offensive line sucks." Blah blah blah blah blah….
I'll get to some of that in a minute. People…..HELLO, THIS TEAM IS 3-0. They've already won more games than all of last year. They have not lost a road game. I swear to God, there's a pocket of Chiefs fans that will never be happy no matter what. They're the kind of people who would win power ball, and bitch that the winning ticket gave them a paper cut.

Not to play debbie downer in your thread, since there's already one for that... but, out of that group of people, even though some may actually never be happy and do just want to complain, there's also a group who have seen this several times and know how it's always ended.... and to those people, it's not all about going 3-0 (which is nice), it's about making noise in the playoffs, or at least knowing they can make noise in the next year or two with who they have now.

After watching so many games over 20+ years, regular season wins are nice... they're like going to Worlds of Fun and enjoying the view on a nice day from the ferris wheel or riding the Viking Voyager. But, I've been on the Viking Voyager 800 times. I'll still go on it, but riding the Mamba without throwing up at the end would be really fun.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but it sure seemed like the line settled down when Schwartz came in -- Fisher included.

I like this team better than the team(s) Vermeil era. High flying offense is only fun when they have the ball......no defense wins nothing.

Would you rather be 0-3 and end the suspense now?

Hey, nobody expects a 2012 two win team to be 2013 Super Bowl Champs. All teams have problems. Denver is one hit on Peyton away from being mediocre. Baltimore is having problems, Pittsburgh is having problems. It's more wide open this year than its been for a long time. Only one team can be champs every year, y'know....

It seems to me like the performance has gone up notably with Schwartz in there, too.

10. I drank a lot, whoo!
9. Numbskulled Nattering Neybobs of Negativity.
8. Alex Smith did OK.
7. Charles is a good player.
6. Our back up tight ends suck.
5. Houston is a good player.
4. Our secondary did OK.
3. Our tackles suck.
2. Special teams a mixed bag.
1. Andy Reid, you go Girl!

Calcountry 09-20-2013 10:29 AM

Just a brief word with respect to point #9 above. If you have been following this team die hard, since the triple overtime loss to Miami in the AFC championship game(I was 5 at the time so I don't remember the Super Bowl except for NFL films), you will excuse me if some of us just aren't quite on this band wagon yet. Alas, I probably wouldn't allow myself to believe it with a 10 point lead in the 4rth quarter of the Super Bowl. Beaten down like a rented mule this team has done to me over the years.

This is absolutely right for me. I want to be happy. I have no reason to want to bitch about something I love and that is to win games but I want to win in the playoffs and have hope that we can win a Super Bowl. Alex Smith does not give me that feeling of hope right now. I want to see better play out of him and see more out of our offense to score touchdowns that we can enjoy to celebrate more of to give our defense something to defend.

I'm happy we are 3-0 but am holding reserve on too much excitement until playoffs~ p p playoffs? Just happy to get a win. Jim Mora

This team could go 6-10, or 8-8, or 10-6 or 12-4. All depends on who stays healthy, and who stays healthy for our opponents. One thing for sure is, we won't be drafting first.

lcarus 09-20-2013 10:32 AM

I am disappointed with our special teams. Obviously Colquitt is money, and Succop inside 50 is pretty much money, but otherwise I expected more from our return game. I think we were all expecting more considering Toub's reputation and also how well they did in the preseason. I'd like to see Knile in the return game more. I know, I know. He's turnover prone, and turnover ratio is our specialty right now. But he's so fast. I think he would have been gone on that kick return to open the game perhaps.

I'm looking 10-6 dead square in the eye right now. Maybe more, but I don't wanna get too greedy too early.
