Chiefs defense excelled while Vick underperformed.

As Vick underperforms Chiefs defense excels.

Has the shine ever formed and disappeared from a coach faster than it did with Chip Kelly?

Yep. And Saban.

Andy Reid knew how to play Vick. End of story.

This gimmick O is a solid old school design.

Spread the defense out, widen gaps to create bigger running lanes.

Michael Vick's inaccuracy and inconsistency is the fly in the ointment.

This, the system will most likely work with an accurate and smart QB.

Well according to NFLN, Sutton knew how to play Chip Kelly. Add that with Reid knowing Vick as well, equals Philly scoring low and us winning big!

Some of you homers have to realize that the national media is used to the Chiefs being total ass every year, and they will continue to be very skeptical of a team out of Kansas City being legit until a championship is won or a consistent winning program takes the field year after year.

chefsos 09-25-2013 07:23 AM

I think it was not so much what the Chiefs did, but who they had doing it. Some other teams that do not happen to have Houston and Hali will try it and get their ass kicked if Vick is feelin' it. I mean, Vick is Vick. He's pretty much defined by inconsistency.

I felt like Vick wasn't really the same after the first touchdown where he got rocked by DJ.

Ace Gunner 09-25-2013 08:09 AM

The DL had hands up from the very first play. I think the Chiefs D clogged pass lanes and used the delay pass rush from the beginning and that was enough to make Vick uncomfortable. By the second series, Vick was looking to pull up and run, which he did via designed plays.

Everybody knows how to play Vick. Or at least they should. Hit him, hard and repeatedly. He then goes from a semi-accurate passer with a good deep ball to a bad decision maker.

I don't remember everyone calling them revolutionaries after their first games, but I could be mistaken.

I believe that Chip Kelly's system, or some form of it, could be revolutionary, and make an impact on this league like the "West Coast Offense" did.

It needs a quarterback to make it work, like the West Coast Offense needed Montana. When a good QB has success in this offense, more people in the league will start adapting it to work for them. IMHO.
