Yeah, the story takes place during the Christmas holiday, but the plot really has nothing to do with it.

My Favorites:

A Christmas Story
Christmas Vacation
Elf
Scrooged

I don't think Die Hard qualifies as a Christmas movie. It's just become trendy for people to answer with that. And in that case, I'll say Bad Santa is my favorite Christmas movie. I can watch it every year and still laugh my ass off LMAO

If we're talking more of the traditional sense, I'll go with Christmas Vacation and/or Home Alone. I'm 31 so those are the two that have always been staples for me.

Right now it's Elf. "Hello, this is Buddy the Elf. What's your favorite color?"

This is now a must watch for me too. I want to show this to my 2 year old niece.

3. A Christmas Story

I'd like to watch A midnight Clear again. Though there are probably better Christmas truce movies.

This is a great Christmas movie lol. It's really an underrated horror/thriller gem that gets overlooked. It's one of the very first "slasher flicks" that introduced a lot of things which were then used in much more successful horror movies like Halloween, Friday the 13th, etc. Like showing the killer's point of view.

Die Hard is as much a Christmas movie as Home Alone. Similar plot in reality. Good guy vs bad guys in a building during Christmas.
Bad Santa was great, and here's one not mentioned. "The Ref"
