Alex Smith has shown time and again that he will throw to the open receiver, and no one else. Jump balls just aren't his thing, so I'm not sure exactly how useful Evans would be in this offense with this QB. Of course, he also has sick hands, is tall as shit, with gorilla arms.
I don't see how Evans isn't the #1 WR on the board after that combine. It's not like he doesn't have the production to back up the workout numbers.

Yeah I think Beckham fits our offense better, but I see Evans as a big play guy that will beat a CB one on one in most situations because of his body and ball skills. Evans is also a very smart player.
Working with Manziel he was constantly finding ways to come back to the QB, and help out his guy after the play was broken down. That's an important trait IMO. He averaged over 20 yards per catch which is just insane.
The size, speed ratio is off the charts, and he plays fast as well. It's not a situation like with Baldwin where the guy timed well, but doesn't show up. As for separation concerns, I'm not entirely too worried about it.
He will learn in the NFL how to use his body to get open and use his hands in particular to gain leverage on the DB. Similar to Vincent Jackson, but I think Evans has more upside. Keep in mind he's a RS Sophomore.
