Meh, I got over what other teams do a long time ago.

Carr will be like any rookie QB, he'll struggle when under pressure. We just have to beat their OL.

Sutton will respond by sitting back in coverage.

And our DBs will respond by committing penalty after penalty down field and giving up huge plays to any of Oakland's speedsters.

I think they should have thrown Schaub to the wolves while Carr got a firmer grasp of the speed of the game and adjustments from the sidelines, then given him the job after the bye week.

Not the way I would have gone, but I understand the decision.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a young QB doing this?

Yeah this. Schaub should have at least started the first few games. It would have allowed the team to get some of the wrinkles out before they brought in the rook.

Yeah, the Raiders are getting it. Even if Carr doesn't pan out, they are trying to draft and develop their own which shows a commitment to long term success (potentially).

And I'm sure if Carr doesn't pan, they will try this again; it's a numbers game. Eventually they will land their 10+ year stud.

Gotta give credit when credits due. Eats you up knowing Raiders will be competitive and we won't.

Those gifs are everyday QB throws that Matt Cassel, Trent Green, Alex Smith, and Pete Stoyanovich could all make if they had more than 4 seconds in the pocket.

If they don't improve significantly this year, it'll likely be Allen's last season as HC of the Raiders and Reggie McKenzie's last year as GM. That's probably why they aren't taking it slow with Carr; even though he's not quite ready yet, he does give them the best shot at winning some games this year. Allen is probably hoping that, even if they lose a lot, the FO will see enough growth from Carr to let Allen stay on for another season for the sake of continuity and growth with Derek Carr.

Competitive? Their roster has about as much talent as a Sporting Chance bowling team. If they win more than 4 games this year, I'll dig up Joan Rivers' corpse and skull**** it.
