72 for air, 68 for heat.

About 71 in my apartment. I'd be happy if I could set it around 68-69 though.

During the winter, I usually set it around 67-68 for heat.

srvy 09-09-2014 10:29 AM

76

70 in our house. We both agreed.

LOL, I am the same way, I turn it up t 76 during the day, but when I am home it is at 71. I would like 68 or so, I like to be a bit chilly, but oh well.

Damn. I like it a bit cool, but damn. Must be those British winters you're used to.

Plant shade trees. Long term huge plus. Attic fan big bonus in spring/fall. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms. The house is vectored east and west. One at 78 other at 76. During the winter 66 and wear sweaters.

With the shade trees, attic fan and ceiling fans, we have had the AC on maybe 30 days this summer.

AC=76
Heat =70/72.

"Grab a blanket" to kids in gym shorts/tank top in house complaining that it's cold.

We don't have an air conditioner. We have a swamp cooler that cools our third floor, and the cool air goes down to the other two floors. We usually run it all day during the summer or the third floor gets oppressive.

However, this year a water supply line broke over the winter and the summer was so cool that we never bothered to fix it. So we had no air conditioning this summer and it wasn't really bad.

In the winter, I think we set our thermostat to 68 or 69 during the evenings and weekend days and down to something like 62 at night and on workdays. We have a small electric heater on the third floor that we use on particularly cold nights since we don't have heating ducts up there, but usually the heat rising from the first two floors is sufficient for the third floor. The third floor is our bedroom so we don't mind if it's a little cooler.

Being in AZ, I set my AC to 86, plus ceiling fan in whatever room I am in, and it is cool. 84 for sleepy time.

Going below 80 is a financial disaster when it is 110 outside but I'll do that if I have company.

That's a fun contrast to my previous post.
