I don't know where the league is going to be in 4-5 years... as the 2000's guys all age out of the league. Roethlisberger, Romo, Rivers, Eli, all of these guys are getting into their mid 30's. They don't have many prime seasons left. And even Rodgers, Flacco and Ryan are in their 30s.

That basically leaves Wilson and Luck. And probably Dalton and Newton. There aren't many "elite" QBs under 30 years old... and a lot of people on this board would argue those four guys aren't that great. I'm not sure who the next wave will be, but somebody in this league will have to be playing QB and winning games.

You look at the list of elite to near elite QBs in this league, all but Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger sat and learned for at least a half season before being given the keys, and Roethlisberger was barely asked to do anything but hand the ball off to Bettis in his first season.

The problem, I believe, as I've said before, is not talent.
It's development.

I understand the sentiment. Seriously though who are you taking 1.1 through 1.10?

A Quarterback.

Goff. Cook. Gotta take a chance at some point. The waiting game is obviously not working.

I also wanted Derek Carr, or Teddy Bridgewater. And I wanted Geno Smith. But we'll never know who works out until the chance is taken.

If there is we won't draft him

Boykin's best comparable is Russell Wilson IMO. They have similar styles and both know how to go out and get the win.

Many Radio host have been saying that most Players with talented arms would rather play baseball then football same amount of money way less body trauma when you retire its why there has been a drought of talent at the QB Position.

Carson Palmer also falls into this category. Bens Steeler team went 15-1 that year when he took over if I remember correctly. Manning however did suffer in his first year.

MLB players actually make MORE money than NFL QB's do. MLB contracts are fully guaranteed. I'd rather play baseball too. I can do that until I'm 40. NFL is a short lived career typically.

We won't be drafting in the top 10.

Probably 15-20.

This class could be nothing but Andrew Lucks and half the fans would snub their noses up at the whole thing.

The problem I'm starting to sense is that, even with the offense preferring rules, the position is talenting itself out of the market for an immediate impact player.

Maybe 2 every 3 years competition ready. 2 every 5 years playoff ready within 5 years in the league, draft-wide.

Anywhere in the 1st round is a perfect spot to take Boykin.

You really think now the Chiefs are going to finish the season 7-2 or 6-3 down the stretch?
