This is the problem here. For NFL games, every game on TV is called by a neutral crew, but in baseball You watch a blatantly homer crew (especially us with Hudler, lol) for 6 long months, so people think thats normal. Then you abruptly shift to a neutral crew who is talking up both teams and looking for the storyline, and won't be so relentless about discussing how the Royals could come back any moment every inning they are down.

I don't mind him either. Not sure why people don't like him.

Main issue with Buck is that he goes to the extreme of what most PBP guys do - he gets stuck on a narrative or person and he just beats it to a pulp - most PBP guys move on and let the game create its own narrative. It's like he doesn't have much else to say but keep to his talking points. I think that's what drives most people bonkers.

All in all he's just a super-average PBP guy - but only when he's not caught up in his preferred narrative-loop.
