Don't bother. The fight to get them to cover anything wouldn't be worth it.

If you are in KC...take it to Doc Willen @ http://www.rennsportkc.com/. Have him do a complete PPI on it prior to buying. Best Porsche mechanic in the mid-west...honest too.

Oil changes will NOT be $200...its not hard on these cars. Do not buy one without maintenance records...Boxsters are good cars.

I ****ing hate extended warranties. Mainly because i'm a service writer and dealing with those assholes sucks.

It's been mentioned already but unless you get hit with a large repair trans/eng/whatever then it doesn't pay itself off imho.

If you decide to get one make sure you check labor rate coverage. Someone people bring contracts in here that cover a max of 65/hr when my labor rate is 95. Guess who pays the difference?

Sounds safe. It's box-like, right? Boxes are safe.

save the money for the insurance.

Bugeater 04-04-2016 04:39 PM

Why on earth would you buy a kid a Porsche? If anything, buy it for yourself and give him that boring VW you drive.

Bugeater 04-04-2016 04:40 PM

Oh, and will you adopt me?

Threw the "sensible" hat out the window, eh?

My teacher in HS had one. Fun little car. She drove me around in it a few times. Mid-engine roadsters have a driving feel like no other.

ThaVirus 04-04-2016 04:54 PM

$17,000 for a new engine on a 10 year old car. Piss on that.

That engine is unlike most production car engines.

If you want something unique then you're going to pay unique prices.

You're also getting a unique driving experience.

Im assuming Donger is buying this off a neighbor or something.....
