I don't know anyone personally, so I just voted on the ones I have seen posts from. The bottom line is that as long as the moderation is fair, groovy. I do hope that some of the TOS items are clarified and pure trolls are on a short leash.

I definitely think that this is a priority. Regarding the trolls, that's kind of where the discussions are needed, but I know there's energy from the team on finding ways to improve Lounge discussion. Right now, the most promising idea is having a separate subforum (used to be the Romper Room) where true trolls could be banished to (but everyone else could choose whether to post there or not). That way, the Lounge discussion would be a little more controlled, but people who love feeding trolls could still do it to their hearts content.

There's a lot of nuance to that that would need to be worked out, but it sounds promising. We'll have more discussions on that once we get the new mod team up and running.

Define troll. I think there are some people who really have their honest opinions that people label as trolling if they go against majority opinion. What qualifies you to be a RR resident vs. visitor?

Again, the concept would need to be fleshed out as there would be a TON of grey area. Troll would probably be loosely defined as someone who tends to constantly derail threads, though.

Not much, but he's been involved in the discussions that resulted in all of this, so presumably he'll be around more than he used to be.

I struggle with the troll thing and the associated bitching and whining. If you don't want to deal with issues from the mods, don't be a ****ing douche. I've never seen mods go crazy on anyone that wasn't trying to be a colossal douche. Maybe Phil did some stuff I don't remember and maybe some name changes, but largely if you engage in discussion rather than douchebaggery there isn't a problem.
