I could see him in Jacksonville with Coughlin there.

I know I'm not known for my football knowledge, so overlook if you want. I'm all for trying something new, especially during a slump, but I can understand Reid's reasoning for keeping your veteran starter in whenever you are on top of your division (even if by only one game). The Giants really have nothing to lose by doing the switch at this point.

Did something happen other than they suck? They've sucked for awhile.

They lost their WRs very early this season for starters. I'm sure there's a laundry list of other things.

I hope so.

Dude sucks bawls. He's as bad as Alex Smith but in a completely different way.

I hope the Broncos continue down this path; keep on chasing retreads and hoping your defense can carry them. It worked really well for the chiefs the last 3 decades...

If they want to re-sign him they do. One would presume that decision is made at this point, but you still shitcan the possibility.

Also, they have draft position to lose. Chiefs wrecked that pretty well though.

Works out well... they pick someone like Lamar Jackson in the draft, then trade for Eli. Perfect combo. Move the other guys for whatever you can get, same with a 1/2 dozen other players.

Oh sure, leave Eli in to beat KC, then blow everything before playing the Raiders.

When they were up 2 games it was EXACTLY the time to consider pulling the trigger. They had a cushion to use and against 2 very beatable teams. He takes some lumps but probably keeps our heads above water and gets himself more battle tested for the key stretch against Oakland and SD.

Now if they lose at NYJ, he'll say the Raiders and Chargers games are divisional games that are too risky to put on the shoulders of a rookie quarterback with no experience.

It's no different than exercising - there's always an excuse not to do it if you're looking for one and Andy Reid is clearly looking for one. What you say is a reason not to bench Alex I would have called a perfect cause for doing precisely that.

So, yeah ... they did it with Peyton. Are you going back to the Plummer days, Orton or somehow counting Brock in that mix? Most everyone else (Griese, Cutler, Tebow, the guys there now) were draft picks.

Yep but the question is why. He wanted and drafted Mahomes so why doesn’t he want to play him this season?

Orton, Manning, and yes, Brock (though I will acknowledge that he was an emergency measure).

If they turn to Eli next, that would pretty firmly establish a trend, no? And I kinda feel like Elway's gonna be gunshy about pursuing another young QB after Lynch appears to have blown up on him.

Andy is stubborn as hell and will stick with his original plan to sit Pat all year and thinks he can still fix Alex.

yea Eli took their crap roster and won 2 games in a row against the Chiefs and Cowboys. Hes killing the FOs draft stock especially if hes not going to be there next year. Geno garuntees them more losses. Elis two wins probably knocks them out of a top 3 pick lol
